EdgeTX Sound Pack Installation Guide

We make adding custom voice packs to your EdgeTX radio as simple as possible. Choose either our EdgeTX Audio Installer (recommended) or the standard Manual SD Card Transfer method below.

Method 1: Automatic Installer (Recommended)

If you downloaded our custom txsoundpacks.com installer package, follow these quick steps to automatically update your radio’s SD card.

  1. Connect Your Radio: Turn on your radio transmitter and plug it into your computer via USB-C. Select USB Storage (SD Card) on the radio screen.
  2. Run the Installer: Navigate to your downloads on txsoundpacks.com and click the install button next to the voice pack you would like to have on your radio.
  3. Select Your SD Card Drive: The installer will automatically detect (or prompt you to select) your radio’s mounted SD card drive letter.
  4. Click Install: Click Install Sound Pack. The installer will extract and place all audio files into the correct SOUNDS directory structure automatically.
  5. Safely Eject: Once the installer confirms completion, safely eject the USB drive from your computer and unplug the cable.

Method 2: Manual SD Card Transfer

If you downloaded the raw .zip audio package, you can manually copy the files onto your radio’s SD card.

Step 1: Download & Unzip

  1. Download the .zip file from your order confirmation email or My Account page.
  2. Extract (unzip) the file on your computer to reveal the SOUNDS folder.

Step 2: Connect Your Radio

  1. Power on your EdgeTX transmitter and connect it to your computer using a USB-C cable.
  2. On the radio display, select USB Storage (SD Card).

Step 3: Copy the Audio Files

  1. Open the mounted SD card drive on your computer.
  2. Navigate to the SOUNDS directory on the SD card.
  3. Drag and drop the unzipped voice folder (e.g., en) directly into the SOUNDS folder.
  4. Safely eject the USB drive from your computer and disconnect the cable.

Final Step: Activate & Assign Sounds on Your Radio

Once your files are installed (via Method 1 or Method 2), configure your radio settings:

1. Set Your Voice Pack Language

  1. Press and hold the SYS button on your radio to open the System Menu.
  2. Go to RADIO SETUP and scroll down to Voice Language.
  3. Select the folder name matching your new sound pack.

2. Assign Sounds to Switches (Special Functions)

  1. Press the MDL button to open the Model Setup menu for your active aircraft.
  2. Navigate to the SPECIAL FUNCTIONS (or GLOBAL FUNCTIONS) tab.
  3. Select an open slot (e.g., SF1) and set the trigger switch position (e.g., SA↓).
  4. Set the action to Play Track and choose your desired voice callout file.
  5. Toggle your switch to test the audio!
